Aortic occlusion is also known as Resuscitative Endovascular Balloon Occlusion of Aorta (REBOA). It is a technique where a balloon is advanced into the descending aorta through the femoral artery and temporarily inflated, thereby redirecting blood flow to the heart and the brain.
